The Bunnies Are HERE!

The bunnies have arrived at Keane Studios, and they are about the cutest we’ve ever seen. Cozy, Jamie, Snowflake and Velvet are snuggled in for the night next to their friends the chicks, ready for tomorrow morning’s start of the adventure! Come back here every day to see what they’re up to next!

The Flower Fields are beginning to show…

Today, we opened up our booth at the Flower Fields in anticipation of the official March 1 opening. Though the flowers won’t be ready for our portrait sessions that early, we will be ready to start by mid March. If you’d like to keep track of how the flowers are doing in Carlsbad, check in at The Flower Fields web site.

To reserve a session, visit our Flower Fields site.

Either bring your envelopes you were given tonight, or get a new envelope there. There is no one at the studio to answer your calls or take your orders. Thanks for your interest, but the order page had to be taken down.

TP Cheer Pictures on Gina Alexander Bags

Ever wonder where you’re going to put your cheer gear? This year, you can purchase two different Gina Alexander bags from us. What’s a Gina Alexander bag? Click the link to see the celebrities who carry them. For Torrey Pines cheer, you have two bags to choose from, as you see below. Each one is $75.

The tote is 11x11x4, and can have a photograph of you, your buddies or the whole squad.

The cosmetic bag is 7×5, and works well with any landscape oriented image.

Halloween is Coming at Del Mar Highlands!

For many years, Foto Finish in Del Mar Highlands has provided fun Halloween pictures for Carmel Valley kids! This year, Keane Studios is teaming up with Foto Finish to double the number of kids who can be photographed.

We’ll be at Del Mar Highlands from 3:00 to 6:00 on Halloween, photographing every trick or treater. All the images will then be posted online, where you can pick your favorite for a complimentary 4×6 print, and order packages for family and friends, too.

Just subscribe to our blog for more info!

Diegueno Country School storyboards

You’ve probably all looked at the beautiful images of your children by now! Something we have never offered before for Diegueno is our storyboards. This year’s indoor and outdoor portraits lend themselves so well to this idea, we wanted you to have a chance to order your children’s portraits in a unique way.

The storyboard on the top is a 16×16 mounted print, and will be set up just as you see here. One large image and three smaller ones. The background and borders will also be green, as shown.

The 10×20 storyboard below features 3 – 5×7 images, and your child’s name will appear above the left image. The 2009 date was picked for the year they end their current grade.

We have reduced the price on these storyboards by more than half by offering these two templates for you – each will be exactly as you see. To order, simply select any image and order the storyboard, and order. Then  send us an e mail at schools@keanestudios.com. In the e mail, tell us these things:

1) The storyboard you want.

2) The image numbers you want. We’ll use our judgment on layout for you.

3) If you’re ordering the 16×16, tell us which image should be large. If you don’t, we’ll use our judgment.

These are some of our most popular items, and we’re delighted to be able to offer them to you!

A far cry from the Flower Fields!

After we finished our seminar in Asheville, Mary and I headed to Charleston, SC, for a couple of exploring days. We arrived at Middleton Place, an ante bellum plantation just outside Charleston, just an hour before dusk. By the time we left, we were the only ones left on hundreds of acres and the sun was setting. The local wildlife was coming alive!

Mary wondered why there was a heron looking intently at two bumps in Butterfly Lake. The bumps were hoping that tasty bird would get closer. No, we wouldn’t see the sites below in the Flower Fields!

Yes, that is an alligator, and no it was not a telephoto and, no, there was – gulp – no fence. We were a little nervous those herons would become dinner.

Mary got to give Bert & Ernie, the draft horses, a big hug.

After learning there was limited gas in Atlanta, and an eight hour drive to our flight in Nashville, we decided to stay in Atlanta. We’ll see you all Thursday instead!

The Keanes go blogging in Asheville, North Carolina!

Mary and I are visiting Asheville, North Carolina this week, attending a seminar on blogging presented at the studio of our friend Marilyn Sholin, and moderated by Chris Price, who designed our new web site theme. I’ve written a few posts before, but now I actually know a few secrets about improving our blogging. Stay tuned – we’ll be posting very often now.
