We're moving to Pacific Highlands Ranch!

We've loved our studio in the Hacienda building, and the beautiful courtyard which greets us daily, but it's time for a change. After eleven great years in the Hacienda, we are moving to the Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch, where Trader Joes, Starbucks, Baked Bear and Panera have already opened amongst others. Across the street from Canyon Crest Academy and the new Pacific Trails Middle School, the Village is going to be a real gathering place for the east end of Carmel Valley. Mary and I are personally excited, because we will be walking to the studio most days. We live only a half mile away.

We're moving to Pacific Highlands Ranch!

I've been in the same profession since I was 19. One of the great things about that, especially in photography, is that you have touched a lot of lives. Every once in awhile, you have a chance to touch base again. I just heard from wedding clients I had photographed on December 13, 1980. As you can see from their wedding picture, it was definitey 1980! 35 years later, they are planning a wedding for one of their three kids (they already have two grandchildren, too) in Sacramento. They decided to see if I was still at it, and here I am.As photographers, we put our hearts into our work - it's how we can capture the best moments. It was wonderful to have that bride of 35 years say ...

We're moving to Pacific Highlands Ranch!

You'll probably recognize the two guys you see here - yes, the last two Presidents of the United States. Did they think when they posed for their senior portraits that one day they'd be in the Oval Office. Based on the hat and the collar, you have to guess no.It's the time of year we at Keane Studios start turning our thoughts to the yearbooks we've helped create the past 20 years. If you graduated from Canyon Crest, La Costa Canyon, San Dieguito Academy or Torrey Pines since then, we probably did your senior portrait!Instead of talking senior portraits, though, I'd like to say a few words of tribute to the kids on the yearbook staffs, and their advisers, who put these publications ...

We're moving to Pacific Highlands Ranch!

I posted on Facebook the ther day that I was heading for Sapulpa, Oklahoma. When the weather is beautiful in San Diego, and it's raining with threats of tornadoes here in Oklahoma, what could possibly have motivated me to come? Our friends Gary and Pam Box have their studio here in Sapulpa, and are known throughout the country for their portrait style, and this weekend they've been teaching a handful of dedicated photographers how they crate it.47 years ago this month, I photographed my first wedding. Ever since that day, I've been learning. and this is my most recent stop. You see Gary here in his "unioersall ighting helmet!" Say what? He demonstrates lighting direction by donning this ...
